I've been to a lot of parties in my life. A *lot*. They've become pretty much synonymous with the A-List today, haven't they? The pre-parties, the shows (which are just big parties in and of themselves), the after parties, the after-after-parties...then you get a break. Until your next premiere.
I'm sure you're all expecting me to bitch about how miserable I always am at them, how no one understands the pain in my soul, how hard it is to be rich and famous.
It is.
If you're a loser.
Don't take the job if you don't want to be famous. If you don't want to risk complete and utter failure, don't become an actor, but what they never tell you is don't become an actor if you can't handle succeeding, either. *That's* when you really crash and burn. Look at Britney, the poor kid. She didn't go to too many parties, she *got* to go to to many parties too quickly.
My only real regret in the big party of life: Jon Stewart. The man will steal your heart and crush it beneath his tiny, tiny feet.
Oh, Jon, I thought I meant something to you.
